4th Grade Outdoor Trip

Elementary School Outdoor Education
In conjunction with the Eagle County School District and the National Park Service, Meet the Wilderness guides four day educational outdoor programs each spring. During the months of May and June, area 4th graders visit Dinosaur National Park or Colorado National Monument. Camping and hiking during these trips and visiting park museums, students study the pre history of Colorado and learn about the geology and biology of our parks. This trip culminates a year of book study allowing students to have a hands on experience touching, seeing and feeling the outdoors.

"I can respect nature and encourage others to do the same thing. Another thing is that I must never give up. I can imagine or remember when I was rock climbing or when I was hiking. If I could do that, then I can do anything. Third, I learned to appreciate my family more. I realize how important they are. I'm going to let them know that as often as I can. Finally, I learned that I am so little. God created so many wonderful things. Nature is so beautiful and I am so thankful that someone actually created a program like this. I feel very lucky."
